**Dream Big: Capital Campaign Kickoff Event Planned for December 14**
The Lewiston Public Library (LPL) is hosting a fundraising event titled "Dream Big: Capital Campaign Kickoff" on Saturday, December 14, from 11 AM to 2 PM in Callahan Hall. This free event aims to support the renovation of the Children’s Department. A suggested donation of $25 or more is encouraged, and attendees must register at [GiveButter](https://givebutter.com/LPLholidayparty).
Guests will have the opportunity to meet fairytale princesses and popular superheroes, enjoy performances, and partake in activities such as decorating their own superhero capes or crowns. An art station will be available for children to draw their vision for the new Children’s Department, accompanied by live music throughout the event.
The fundraising event is part of the "READy to Grow" campaign, designed to create a welcoming and inspiring space for children in Lewiston. The renovation aims to reflect both the rich history of the area and the modern-day community’s diverse cultures and traditions.
For further details, individuals can contact the Children’s Department at 513-3133 or via email at LPLKids@LewistonMaine.gov. Additional information is also available on the library's website [here](https://lplonline.org/about/support-the-library/).
Midcoast Brass will also be participating as part of a community outreach effort from the Midcoast Symphony Orchestra, located in Lewiston at the Franco Center.
The event is expected to generate excitement and awareness for the necessary renovations to better serve families and children in the area.
