Pauline Bourgoin, a beloved community leader and swim instructor at the Auburn-Lewiston YMCA, passed away on November 23, 2024, at the age of 91. Pauline began her career at the YMCA in 1951 and dedicated more than six decades to teaching swimming, reportedly instructing around 25,000 children during her tenure.

She retired in 2018, having made a significant impact on generations of families through her commitment to water safety and her patient teaching style. Pauline was not only known for her role as a swim instructor but also as a mentor and friend, advocating for every child to learn essential water safety skills.
