**Beloved Coach and Community Hero, Richard B. Norcross, Passes Away**

LEWISTON, MAINE – The Auburn-Lewiston YMCA has announced the passing of Richard B. Norcross, a longtime figure in the community and a fundamental supporter and mentor in Youth Basketball. Dick Norcross passed away on November 29, 2024, at the age of 82.

Norcross had a lifetime connection with the YMCA’s Youth Basketball program. Starting as a player in his youth, he went on to dedicate decades to the program as a coach in the 1970s and 1980s. Through his guidance, he instilled not just basketball skills, but also the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and perseverance in the young athletes he mentored.

The Auburn-Lewiston YMCA recognized Norcross as a community hero, praising his lifelong impact on both the program and the athletes he coached. His legacy, filled with countless positive contributions to the lives of many, remains an inspiration to all who knew him.
